MSIG Asia CEO Clemens Philippi appointed Chief Strategy Officer at MS&AD Insurance Group; Norihiro Tanaka named Chairman of MSIG Asia

MSIG Asia, Southeast Asia’s leading general insurer, today announced leadership changes effective 1 April 2026.

Clemens Philippi, currently Chief Executive Officer of MSIG Asia and an Executive Officer of MSI Japan, will be appointed an Executive Officer of MS&AD Insurance Group Holdings (MS&AD) and Chief Strategy Officer for the Group’s International Business. He will jointly lead the Group’s international strategy with Keisuke Ema, currently General Manager of the International Business Department at MSI Japan, as co-Chief Strategy Officers. Reporting to Hironori Morimoto, Group Chief Global Officer of MS&AD, they will focus on enhancing strategic integration and collaboration within MS&AD’s international operations. Until further notice, Philippi will retain his responsibilities as Chief Executive Officer of MSIG Asia.

At the same time, Tetsuya Adachi, Chairman of MSIG Asia, will conclude his tenure with the Group. He will be succeeded by Norihiro Tanaka, currently Executive Officer and Head of Planning at MSIG Asia. Tanaka brings 30 years of experience within the Group, including senior leadership positions as General Manager at MS Amlin Underwriting and Head of Liability and Cyber at MSI Japan, before joining MSIG Asia. His appointment will ensure continuity and strategic consistency at the Board level. He will also be appointed an Executive Officer of MS&AD.
