Meet Mamori-chan – our guardian of the game.
Inspired by the iconic maneki-neko and sakura blossom, she’s a modern-day lucky cat and the vibrant mascot of MSIG! Her name, Mamori means “to protect” in Japanese – a perfect reflection of her role on and off the pitch. With a paw-sitive attitude, she’s determined, and always ready to rally the crowd. Mamori-chan stands for more than just fun – she embodies the heart of what football and MSIG stand for.
Just as a steadfast defender guarding the net, she is here to protect goals – both the ones scored on the field and the dreams of young athletes chasing their future. With every cheer and wiggle, she ignites resilience, teamwork, and passion in communities across the region.
Backed by MSIG’s commitment to providing protection and empowering communities, Mamori-chan champions the spirit of football and our mission to protect goals and power futures. Whether she’s bouncing on the sidelines or encouraging the next generation at football clinics, she is here to remind us that with the right support, anything is possible.

Mamori-chan’s birthday falls on 20 March, coinciding with the Spring Equinox, marking the official start of spring – symbolising renewal and a brighter future ahead.
She is inspired by the maneki-neko (lucky cat), a traditional Japanese symbol of good fortune, she embodies hope and positivity. The addition of sakura (cherry blossoms) signifies the fleeting beauty of hard-earned victories. Together, these features reflect MSIG’s Japanese roots. Dressed in the MSIG United jersey, she showcases the spirit of sports and the importance of unity.
